Thinking of home

Image
Easter egg tree @ Mililani Memorial Park simple celebrations simple celebrations and spring Can you tell I like rainbow colors? LOL...it reminds me of my home, Hawaii. I've been really missing home, just being around my family. If you've ever been to Oahu or the Hawaiian Islands, there's nothing like it, the weather, people, and the food! It even smells like home, if that makes sense! I should plan another trip back home. That sounds like a plan! Now to find some moolahh to go! LOL! I wanted to dedicate today's post to my father, it's been a year since he's been gone. Home isn't the same without him though. Every time I went home, he would always be at the airport to pick me up and my favorite dish "kilawun shrimp." This is the last picture of me with my father and mother in Las Vegas. We were at the Bass Pro Shops-Check out the huge catfish!

A Musing Random Challenge # 16

Image
This week, Glenda asked us to create a card with a tool that we rarely use. I don't have many tools so they are used quite often. The one thing that I do have is my double square hole puncher. I used it to make a neater knot (I was attempting a bow, but bows don't like me very much...I'll blame it on the ribbon). Aloha and have a great week! Tomorrow is Monday, that means a new challenge! It's the only thing I look forward to on Mondays...

A Muse morning

Image
peps, for peps sake easter mama said... Thank you, Jill and Paper Tales for this morning's class! I learned three new techniques that I'm so excited about! First is the flock on the peep, "I love this flocking flock!" Although, my peep looks like the masked bandit! The second is that I got to try the Koh-I-Noor pencils. Which, I'm impressed, they went on so smoothly! Lastly, I used a dauber for the first time to make blue sky. Jill had an outline of the cloud and used the dauber all around it. In the snail card, she shared about a book about a slithering snail, and the "hill" is a frog. Can you see it? Sorry, Jill, if I messed it up but correct me if I'm wrong and the book title, too. :) It's a great way to start a morning w/A Muse stamps at Paper Tales!

Happy Friday!

Image
A treat bag I learned from Jill, A Muse instructor on my first class. It's the 2-5-7-10 treat bag. This one made for a co-worker who is leaving our group to big and better things! Good luck, Celeste! Tomorrow is another class w/Jill-Spring is in the air and I can't wait! Yipee! I also got a goodie bag in the mail today filled with the Spring 2009 swap. Great job, ladies! So many great cards and ideas! My mind in racing! Happy weekend everyone!

not Egg-actly spring-y cards

Image
Do these count as spring cards? Spring time reminds me of Easter and Easter reminds me of eggs. So I made egg shaped cards. Not egg-actly spring-y but I'll try to come up with more before the spring challenge ends on April 7th!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Image
Happy wearing of green day everyone! So I looked up the significance of the four leaf clover, other than being "lucky". The four leaves is said to represent "faith, love, hope and luck." Pretty cool. It's neat to learn something random about something simple. recipe: amuse heart line LG (only using the end heart) and amuse make a wish sentiment. I was laughing while making this card b/c I recently read on the amuse lounge how the other ladies suggested wearing an apron to stamp. I had gotten green ink on my sleeves and green on an unwanted spot on the card. I too tried to "erase" my marks but made it worse! Luckily, I used white-out to cover my spots! LOL!!!

Princess Anya

Image
I love my Copic markers! It took me a while to get it but Princess Anya's hair turned out great! Now to show my Richie! He's the one who did the other Anya and Ian cards. Her dress and tiara has stardust stickles. The layout of the card is from an older post on Little Paper Shop Blog . There are so many challenges online that I spend so much time just thinking about what to create next!

Happy Pi Day!

Image
Happy Pi Day, Ms. Kerry! Pi day sounds like Friday, and any day is cupcake day! ...or A Muse day, LOL! Enjoy!

A Muse random amusing challenge #15

Image
This week Glenda's challenge was to make a " monochromatic card with your least favourite colour" the only color I could think of was black. It's rare that I make a black card but now I'm beginning to think that black is okay. In the second card, I could not resist but to add a litte red to it. I couldn't think of a sentiment that goes along with the little guy and I thought "what do you say when you're in a tough spot?" *lightbulb goes on* "oh, it's just ducky!" What will Glenda think of next week?

Praying for my manang

Image
Please pray for my sister...Madeline pictured on the left. She has been hospitalized for the last two days. Her daughter, Wilma-in the Air Force uniform, said that she has had a brain hemorrhage. ***UPDATE***March 14th**** My sister is now out of ICU, they had drained the fluids out. They say she's not doing good but she's not worse. They're keeping an eye on her, hopefully she'll come out of it! Thanks for all the prayers!

A Muse Challenge #14 Curves

Image
So I'm a little late for Glenda's weekly challenge. Time to catch up. It was a long week for me. It called for curves-the edges are curved, cuttlebug edge border, a muse mini chic bee, and sentiment. This week is to use my least favorite color...humm, that's a tough one. Off to be creative! :)

HE LOVES ME AND IT'S NOT EVEN CHRISTMAS, MY BIRTHDAY OR OUR ANNIVERSARY! I'm so lucky, even the clerk at Cool Scrapbooks said so! I love you, baby! My "pung" forever! muah!

Another joint venture w/Richie

Image
It's good to have a boyfriend who not only supports my new found hobby but also participates. (although he swears he's better than I am...lol...luv ya babe ;P ) He calls curly his trade mark A Muse stamp. It does represent him quite well. Lots of color and fun! Even his mom is surprised that Rich is taking an interest in making cards! For his very first card he used the Greeting Farm "Rock the farm" set and dedicated it to his mom...what a cool son! His hero card is also blog-published on the Greeting farm blog: http://splendidstamping.blogspot.com/2009/03/its-march.html He's a happy camper. Now that he's seen the difference in quality using Copics I'm likely to get a set sooner than later! Yay! I can't wait! He's been shopping for those bad boys more than I have...He's definitely a keeper!
